You wouldn’t drive your car 100,000 miles without changing the oil. The same logic holds true for your home comfort system. Regular HVAC preventative maintenance is the best way to ensure trouble-free operation and peak performance. Pre-season maintenance is also important. It can help to avoid a system failure in severe hot or cold weather when you need it most, and it can also keep your energy bills from getting out of control.

WHEN SHOULD I DO FURNACE MAINTENANCE?

  • For a system that heats and cools: perform maintenance in the spring and fall
  • For cooling maintenance only: perform maintenance at least once a year, before the cooling season
  • For furnace maintenance only: perform maintenance at least once a year, before the heating season.

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO CLEAN/CHANGE MY FILTER?

  • You should always double-check your owner’s manual for specific recommendations, but generally speaking it’s best to clean or change your filters once every 3 to 9 months.
  • Remember, regular cleaning/changing of your filter will ensure the best filtration, increase the life of your machine, and give you peace of mind that you’re breathing easier.

Geiger Brothers personnel were honored to set the final piece of structural steel at the August 14, 2014 “topping out” ceremony held at Ohio University.

Geiger Brothers continues its key role in completing major work activities on the five-building, $116 million Phase 1 housing project on Ohio University’s Athens campus, working through Corna-Kokosing-Elford. This work includes the foundation package (pile caps and grade beams) for the five building site, site utilities and civil work for each building, district chilled water piping relocation, and structural steel fabrication and erection.

As a joint venture with Bruner Corporation, a Columbus-based mechanical contracting firm, Bruner and Geiger Brothers are performing the design assist and construction contracts to complete the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing contracts for the new dormitories.

This first phase of Ohio University’s extensive plan to reshape its on-campus student housing includes the construction of four new residence halls and a common Learning Center. The dormitories, with a total of 900 beds, are expected to ready for student occupancy in the fall of 2015. The new residence halls will offer semi-suite rooms with a shared bathroom. Each hall will have study and social lounges for students, as well as a larger area for programming, wireless internet, cable TV, and laundry areas. The project includes a central Learning Commons building that will feature group study, meeting and tutoring rooms, media equipped classrooms, and offices.

Geiger Brothers highlights Trane Comfort Specialist designation at Spring Showcase

Geiger Brothers has announced its new designation as an Independent “Trane Comfort Specialist.”

The company chose the annual Jackson County Spring Showcase March 28-30 to promote its new affiliation.  The showcase, sponsored each year by the Jackson Area Chamber Of Commerce, is “Jackson County’s Unique Shopping Experience” and was expanded and relocated this year to the Jackson High School Field House.

As an independent Trane dealer, Geiger Brothers is committed to being the best in installation, service, customer satisfaction and employee training.  The company’s Service Division now specializes in designing, engineering and installing complete Trane comfort systems for owners of existing homes and commercial buildings.

“This is an important distinction for us, as not every dealer qualifies as a Trane Comfort Specialist,” said Geiger Brothers president Erik Massie. “Only those dealers that meet Trane’s stringent standards and demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction, continuing education and commitment to training with Trane’s latest technology are considered for the Comfort Specialist designation.”

Locally owned and operated, Geiger Brothers’ Service Division repairs, services and maintains all makes and models of air conditioning, heating, and plumbing equipment and fixtures. The company’s team of experts can also upgrade, replace, or install new air conditioning and heating equipment for residential and business customers in Jackson and surrounding counties.

“Geiger Brothers is proud to represent Trane, a company known for systems that are designed to achieve maximum efficiency, reliability and comfort, and that deliver the efficiency its ratings promise and that our customers expect,” Massie said.

Geiger Brothers vice president Tim Matchett and president Erik Massie helped Service Division technicians staff the company's exhibit at the Jackson County Spring Showcase Friday, Saturday and Sunday March 28-30. The display highlighted the new Geiger Brothers designation as a "Trane Comfort Specialist."
